isolved makes managing human resource (HR) tasks easy not only for managers but for employees as well. For employees, it offers an intuitive platform, enabling them to perform various functions easily, without having to burden the HR team.

One such function is requesting time off. isolved HR allows employees to easily request time off through its user-friendly interface. While managers and employers do not require approvals, employees have to submit requests when they need time off.

Start by logging in to your isolved account using credentials. This will take you to your main dashboard (as seen below), where you can find all the modules, including ‘Time and Attendance’.

Locate The ‘Time Off Requests’ Feature

Locate the ‘Time Off’ feature within the ‘Time and Attendance’ module and click on it. You will have on screen a comprehensive overview of your paid time off (PTO) and vacation balance. Furthermore, it will also show your upcoming time off requests (if any), and the history of such requests made.

Make A New Request

Find the ‘Time Off’ button at the top right and click on it to create a new request. At this point, you will have a form open on your screen, where you will have to enter the following details:

Policy

Users are required to select the appropriate policy (the available policies depend on the company’s requirements). For example, if your company offers annual or paid time off options, choose the applicable one.

Once you have selected an option, you will see the remaining balance of your selected leave type.

Dates

A calendar will pop up on your screen from where you can select starting and ending dates for your absence.

Review And Update The Relevant Days

While this section is automatically updated depending on the selected starting and ending days, users have the option to uncheck any desired day.

Start Time

You can skip this step if you plan to get a full-day leave. For half day requests, enter the starting time of the leave so that it reflects correctly on your timecard.

Hours Per Day

Remember, these aren’t the hours per day you’re requesting time off for. This is actually the total number of hours employees work per day. The system is set to 8 working hours per day.

However, you can change it if your company follows a different approach. Based on the details provided, the system will automatically calculate the total requested hours.

Notes: Write down any information supporting your time off request if you want to. This is an optional field. However, it is generally recommended to fill it up so that the approver has a clear understanding of the reason for your time off request.

Review And Submit

Once you have entered all the required information, review every detail. Ensure you have selected the right dates and then click on the ‘submit’ button.

Note: The time off request wouldn’t move to the next stage if you do not have sufficient allowed time-off hours remaining for the selected absence type.

Successful Request Time Off And Approval

After you have successfully requested time off, you will receive an email notification confirming the request. The dashboard (as shown in the picture below) will also display a confirmation message indicating that your time off request has been submitted.

Once your request is reviewed and approved by your manager, you will receive another notification confirming the approval.

Make sure to check your remaining leaves after submitting a time off request. If you find any discrepancy, bring it to your manager’s notice without any delay so that the issue can be resolved promptly.
